BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — Law enforcement personnel in the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office will get raises, improved paths to promotion, and better scheduling after the city’s spending board ratified a new deal with their union on Wednesday.
Baltimore’s Board of Estimates approved a memorandum of understanding with Baltimore City Sheriff’s Lodge No. 22 of Fraternal Order of Police that includes a 17% raise for sheriffs and deputy sheriffs over the next three years..
Additionally, the pay increase includes a retroactive 7% pay raise backdated to July 2025, according to the memorandum, and a pair of 5% increases over the next three fiscal years. On call pay has also been implemented, with deputies and deputy sheriffs receiving $30 for each 8 hour period on-call. Employees cannot be on call for more than two weekends in a month.
The wage increases are included in the city’s budget for FY 2026 through FY 2028, according to the board of estimates agenda.
