The Baltimore Police Department announced 10 seizures and 2 arrests in an illegal dirt bike and car club enforcement operation over the weekend.

Authorities said that police officers conducted multiple enforcement operations that disrupted “large-scale” illegal dirt bike activity and a successful car club enforcement.

Police in the Southern and Northern District responded to large groups of dirt bike riders traveling through city parks. Officers said they prevented groups from continuing through the area, and assisted with crowd control as hundreds of riders gathered near Druid Hill Park.

More officers responded to assist, and successfully dispersed the crowd, police said.

During that operation, three illegal vehicles were seized, and in total, police seized 10 dirt bikes and vehicles over the weekend.

Police said that they saw people fueling up at gas stations that were involved in the illegal dirt bike activity.

As a result, civil citations were issued to business at 101 W. Patapsco Avenue and 3601 Potee Street.

During a car club enforcement operation, police responded to the 1000 block of Wilson Drive after security personnel told 911 that a large group of vehicles were gathering.

Authorities said they strategically positioned themselves near the location, and secured available exit routes.

Police committed 54 vehicle stops and issued 36 traffic citations.

One person was arrest for the assault of a police officer, and another was arrested for gun violations and a stolen vehicle.

Authorities said that the stolen vehicle that was recovered was reported stolen in Montgomery County on June 26.

Three vehicles were towed from the incident.

The Baltimore Police Department said it remains committed to addressing illegal dirt bike activity, exhibition driving, and unauthorized vehicle gatherings that jeopardize public safety and the quality of life in surrounding communities.
