A 23-year-old Brooklyn Park man and a teen from Brooklyn were arrested after being found with a stolen vehicle and in possession of drugs.

Dashawn Squirrel. 23, and a 16-year-old were arrested, and are now facing charges.

On Nov. 28, around 4:45 p.m., police were alerted by the Automated License Plate Reader System of a stolen black 2021 Acura IIX.

Police located the unoccupied vehicle in the area of Church Street and Disney Avenue in Brooklyn Park.

Authorities said three men came out of a convenience store, and one walked toward the Acura and proceeded to unlock it with a remote key fob.

When the suspects saw police, they began to flee on foot.

Officers said that a perimeter was established, and they used a patrol drone to locate two of the three suspects, including Squirrel and the teen.

The third suspect was not located, police said.

Authorities seized the following items from the Acura:

  • Approximately 1.1 pounds of suspected cannabis, packaged for sale
  • 15 suspected suboxone strips
  • $993.00 U.S. currency
  • Key fob programming device
