The Bryn Mawr School was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon following an “anonymous threat” that turned out to be unfounded.

According to the Baltimore Police, the Bryn Mawr School on West Melrose Avenue was placed on lockdown following a call described as an “anonymous threat.”

The Baltimore Sun reports that the Gilman School ordered a shelter in place, as well. The private school campuses are located in North Baltimore less than a mile apart.

The lockdown was still in progress as of 3:25 p.m., according to a message from the school.

At 3:55 p.m., a police spokesperson said the call was unfounded.

As of 4:30 p.m., parents are allowed to walk in and get their kids, but cars are still not being allowed in, security at the scene told FOX45 News.
