
MARYLAND (WBFF) — The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) announced lane closures and traffic pattern changes for the Bay Bridge scheduled for the upcoming week.
These changes are scheduled for January 4 through 10, 2026, and are weather permitting.
On Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., the westbound span may be closed for preservation and maintenance work.
Two-way traffic will operate on the eastbound span while the westbound span is closed.

The eastbound span will be closed on the following days and times for preservation and maintenance work:
On the westbound span, two-way traffic will operate during the eastbound span closures.
Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., one lane of the eastbound span may be closed for preservation/maintenance work.
Two-way traffic will operate on the westbound span during the closures of the eastbound span.
Headlights are required at all times on the bridge, the MDTA noted.
Drivers are urged to drive with caution and obey all traffic control devices and lane signals.
