BALTIMORE (WBFF) β A Christmas Eve carjacking in South Baltimore left a 48-year-old man injured and shaken, as police continue searching for the suspects involved.
According to Baltimore Police, the crime happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night in the 2000 block of Griffis Avenue β as many families across the city were spending the holiday at home.

Police said the victim was sitting inside his car when he became involved in a dispute with two unidentified men. During the confrontation, officers say the suspects pulled the man from his vehicle and assaulted him before driving off.
Police scanner traffic captured the urgency of the response, with dispatchers describing the incident as both a carjacking and a common assault. At one point, officers reported the suspect may have been armed with a machete, and a medic unit was requested after callers said the victim was bleeding.
After the attack, police said the victim ran for help, eventually reaching another location where officers were called.
The man was taken to an area hospital with cuts and bruises. Police have not released the extent of his injuries, and no arrests have been made.
Neighbors told FOX45 News the violence was especially troubling given the timing β on a night meant for peace and goodwill.
βThey dead wrong,β one resident said, “It happens every day, but Christmas Eve is kind of messed up. Just give them their car back.”
