Confrontation over broken mirror in Curtis Bay leads to robbery and assault arrest

A confrontation over a broken side-view mirror escalated into a robbery and assault in Curtis Bay, leading to the arrest of a 40-year-old man, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

On Dec. 27, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hilltop Road and Waterway Court after receiving reports of a robbery.

Police say that the incident began when a juvenile victim and his brother were riding E-Scooters in the roadway.

A driver behind them, identified as Michael Andrew Lentz, began yelling at the pair.

After Lentz parked his vehicle in front of his house, one of the individuals on an E-Scooter broke the side-view mirror on Lentz’s truck. In response, Lentz chased the individuals to a nearby pier, where he ripped the helmet off one of them and struck him with it.

Lentz then walked away with the victim’s helmet.

Responding officers quickly located all parties involved.

The individual on the E-Scooter who damaged the vehicle, identified as an 18-year-old man from Pasadena, was cited for destruction of property and released.
