A Davidsonville man has been convicted of possession of child pornography, and is facing jail time, according to the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Christopher Clendenin, 38, was found guilty of seven counts of possession of child pornography on Thursday, May 28.

On April 26, 2023, detectives received a tip that child sexual abuse material was uploaded to the website Reddit.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was able to provide investigators a suspect name and an IP address that led to Clendenin.

Detectives submitted a search and seizure warrant for Clendenin’s Reddit and Google Gmail account on May 8, 2023.

Google responded to the search warrant and the data connected an account linked to Clendenin.

In that account, detectives found both still images and video depicting child sex abuse within its folders.

On August 24, 2023, members of the Child Abuse Unit responded to a Davidsonville home with a search and seizure warrant.

During that search, authorities seized evidence and conducted an interview with Clendenin.

When asked if he recognized the Gmail account under investigation, Clendenin told officials, “Yeah, that’s a couple emails back.”

State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess commented, “behind every offender possessing child sexual abuse material, there is a child victim that has been exploited and deeply harmed in the creation of these images. We will always stand with victims and ensure that those who prey on our young and vulnerable be held accountable in the court of law.”

After the jury’s guilty verdict, the judge revoked Clendenin’s bond, and ordered him to be held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center ahead of his sentencing hearing on July 27.
