CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A D.C. 18-year-old is accused of stealing a car and trying to steal another after a late-night police chase in Waldorf, authorities said.
Charles County sheriff’s deputies were called around 1:48 a.m. Aug. 21 to the 15500 block of Woodward Place for reports of someone possibly breaking into cars while another person acted as a lookout near a Dodge Challenger.
As deputies arrived, they heard a car alarm and saw someone looking into a vehicle with a flashlight, according to the sheriff’s office. The person ran to the passenger side of the running Challenger, and the vehicle took off.

Deputies used stop sticks at Woodward Place and Western Parkway, flattening one of the car’s tires. Police said they saw items being thrown from the Challenger during the pursuit before it went down Pierce Road, where the people inside ran away.
Deputies arrested the alleged driver, identified as 18-year-old Brandon Marquise Jackson of D.C. after a short foot chase. Two loaded handguns and an extended magazine that had allegedly been thrown from the vehicle was also recovered.

The Dodge Challenger had been reported stolen in another jurisdiction, and deputies said they found burglary and auto theft tools inside. They also found a Dodge Charger on Woodward Place that had been damaged in an apparent attempted theft.
Jackson is charged with auto theft, attempted auto theft, possession of a handgun by a prohibited person and other weapons offenses. He is being held without bond.
