Howard County Police Respond to Deadly Domestic Dispute in Laurel
On Saturday, police responded to a domestic incident on American Pharoah Lane in Laurel that escalated into a two-hour standoff. A man entered a home by shooting at the front door and climbing through a window, then engaged in a shootout with officers.
Body camera footage showed officers encountering a woman on an exterior ledge and a man with a long gun inside the home. After multiple commands to surrender were ignored, the man exchanged gunfire with two officers.
The Howard County police tactical unit eventually entered the home and found the man dead. Multiple firearms and a knife were recovered. Three people were evacuated, and no other injuries were reported.
