
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — As the people of Baltimore continue to dig out of this past week’s snow event a familiar sight is popping up in neighborhood streets.
Cones, chairs, crates and the occasional creative item are being used to call “dibs” on parking spots people have cleared of snow.
The practice has led to some heated interactions.

According to Baltimore Police, in southwest Baltimore an argument between a man and a woman over a shoveled parking space turned physical.
In southeast Baltimore, a driver reported their car was scratched with a shovel after parking in the neighbor’s recently shoveled parking spot, police said.
And, in Mount Vernon, BPD said someone had their tires slashed after parking in a spot that had been shoveled.
In Brooklyn, resident Sarah O’Neil said her ring camera picked up her neighbor making threatening remarks involving a gun towards her husband after a disagreement surrounding the parking spot in front of their home.

“He threatened that he had a 32 and he was going to make us cry,” O’Neil said. “I called because they threatened us. They went and talked to the neighbor, and he denied that he threatened us.
BPD confirmed O’Neil’s call for service.
No arrests were made.

O’Neil said she’s aware its not against the law to park in an already shoveled space, but described it as a moral code many abide by.
