Baltimore, MD (WBFF) — At least 24 juvenile arrests have been announced across Baltimore City and Baltimore County within the past couple of months.
Many of the arrests announced were for crimes that happened within this timeframe, and most were also for violent crimes.
In Baltimore City, two juveniles have been arrested for murder.
A 15-year-old was arrested for the murder of Tyonna Pierce.
In another, unrelated case officials announced the arrest of a 16-year-old for the murder of 35-year-old Quinton McLellan.

A 17-year-old was charged with attempted murder in a double shooting in west Baltimore.
A 15-year-old was charged with carjacking in the 5300 block of York Road in North Baltimore June 23, 2026.
A total of three 16-year-old males were arrested for handgun violations including after gunfire erupted near Broadway Market in Fells Point.

The other two 16-year-old males were arrested for having possession of a handgun on Light Street near the Inner Harbor.

According to Baltimore Police both had prior robbery arrests.
At least five juveniles including a 14-year-old were arrested for assault in Fells Point. One of the juveniles was accused of spitting in an officer’s face after reportedly being told to leave the area.

Also in June, Commissioner Richard Worley voiced his concerns when announcing the arrests of five more juveniles following the takedown of a crime ring. One 17-year-old had been connected to 23 cases.
These crimes were allegedly committed earlier in the year.

“Particularly troubling is the age of those involved,” said the Commissioner, when announcing the arrests.
The Mayor then echoed the need for juvenile justice reform.
“We need to build a new system from the ground up and I’m looking forward to working with our State partners to do just that,” said Mayor Brandon Scott.
In Baltimore County, officials voiced similar concerns.
Since June 1st, Baltimore County Police announced the arrests of several juveniles following a disturbance on Hazelwood Avenue in Rosedale.
Two 13-year-old’s were arrested for two armed carjackings that occurred near Greenspring Valley Road and Reisterstown Road and York Road and Towsontown Blvd. July 11.
Most recently, investigators announced the arrest of 16-year-old Keith James Junior for the murders of Gigi Myrie, 15, and her 9-year-old brother Steve Allen.
The siblings were found fatally shot inside their home in Gwynn Oak July 7.
During a press conference announcing the arrests leaders spoke to the violence involving juveniles.

“This case highlights for me a couple issues. One is juvenile violence,” said Chief Robert McCullough.
“I am just taken aback by the fact that young people, at the age of 16 years old, not only have access to a gun, but have the propensity, propensity to actually murder someone and murder two people.”
There are also unsolved cases involving juveniles.
Recently Baltimore City Police released surveillance footage from outside a 7-Eleven on Liberty Heights Avenue in northwest Baltimore July 7th.
The footage captures a group of juveniles surrounding, attacking and assaulting an elderly man near the front entrance.

In the video one juvenile is armed with an assault-style rifle and another is armed with a sword.
No arrests have been made.
