Driver hurt after car slams into Maryland dog daycare and lands in swimming pool

A driver was sent to the hospital after a car crashed into a dog daycare facility and ended up in a swimming pool in Potomac, Maryland, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials.

Emergency crews responded to the K9 Aquatic & Daycare Center on Travilah Road near Glen Road in the Potomac Oak Center after a vehicle crashed into the building.

Officials said the car went through part of the structure and ended up inside the facility’s dog swimming pool.

First responders with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) evaluated the driver at the scene before taking them to a hospital. The victim is expected to survive their injuries.

Crews later removed the car from both the pool and the building.

Authorities said the crash caused moderate property damage, and a building inspector was notified to assess the structure.

No further injuries were reported. It was not immediately clear whether any animals were inside the facility at the time of the crash.

The incident is still under investigation.
