(WBFF) — Baltimore is grappling with a troubling surge in juvenile crime, with young offenders committing brazen acts with little regard for consequences.
Dr. Janice Johnson Dias, an associate professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, said, “The consequences are the last thing on their minds.” She attributes this behavior to high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression among youths, noting that they seek attention from peers rather than considering long-term repercussions.
