BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A D.C. man has been sentenced to life in prison following a violent crime spree that investigators say he committed as a teen, including a murder in Harbor East.
On Monday, the Baltimore City State’s Attorney announced defendant Quantay Spinks, now 20, received a life sentence for the first-degree murder of Antonio Peoples, 36, and the attempted murder of his girlfriend as they waited near the valet on Aliceanna Street back in September 2024.

Months later, Baltimore Police announced Spinks’ arrest for the crime, and connected the then-teen to multiple other crimes including the following:
In charging documents investigators indicated it was not believed Spinks acted alone, and said they connected him to crimes through DNA evidence, surveillance footage, cellular data and a comparison of ballistic evidence.
Law enforcement expert Jason Johnson believes this was an acceptable sentence.
“It’s the longest sentence that he could have received. He did commit these offenses as a young adult. And it’s interesting that the murder didn’t slow them down. He continued to commit violent crimes even after the murder,” Johnson said. “So, I think a life sentence in this case is perfectly appropriate. Unfortunately, he probably won’t serve a life sentence under Maryland law. He’ll be entitled to another second look at his sentence down the road because he is a youthful offender, even though he’s not a juvenile.”
