
BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A Howard County man awaits charges after being accused of fatally stabbing his wife.
He remained in the hospital late Monday night recovering from non-life-threatening injuries he sustained .

A quiet Ellicott City neighborhood was rocked by the incident early Sunday morning when Amethyst Stephenson was found fatally stabbed in her home on Huntsmans Run.
Her estranged husband, Alexander Stephenson, is the suspect in the case, according to Howard County police.
Neighbor Brandon Damato, who recently moved to the area, spoke out Monday, describing the scene as “unfortunate, tragic,” adding, “I’m shaking right now a little bit.”
Alexander Stephenson turned himself in later that day at the department’s northern district station in Ellicott City. Police reported he had non-life-threatening self-inflicted injuries and was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Meanwhile, FOX45 News learned Monday that online court records revealed Amethyst Stephenson filed for a temporary protective order against her husband over alleged threats to her and their children. Alexander Stephenson was also charged in an incident in Sykesville, allegedly involving violence against his children, just one day before the stabbing. He will be booked into the Howard County Detention Center upon his release from the hospital.
