Former MPD officer accused in multiple sexual assaults around DMV; more victims possible

A former Metropolitan Police Department officer is accused of sexual assaults in Virginia and Maryland, according to a news release from Takoma Park police.

Timothy Valentin, 30, of Fort Washington, was arrested in Alexandria, Virginia.

Alexandria police, along with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney, are set to give an update on the investigation at 1 p.m. today. 7News will stream the event when it happens.

According to Alexandria police, Valentin has been indicted in Fairfax County, but did not say what charges he is facing. Charges are also pending in Prince George’s County, according to a news release.

Takoma Park police said one of the attacks happened on April 7, 2025. Officers said Valentin met the victim at Blue Sunday’s Bar & Grill in Bowie before traveling to the Society Restaurant & Lounge in Silver Spring. Investigators said Valentin then transported the victim to the 7600 block of Hammond Avenue in Takoma Park, where the assault occurred.

Takoma Park police said Valentin is a suspect in assaults in Alexandria as well as Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. Valentin has been known to use multiple aliases with his victims.

Investigators believe more victims may be out there. Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call the police at 301-270-1100
