BALTIMORE (WBFF) — An 11-year-old boy who was shot seven times on a west Baltimore school playground was up and walking in the hospital with help Wednesday, his grandmother said, as the family continues to wait for an arrest nearly two weeks after the shooting.
Tristen Goode Jordan was shot May 27 in a drive-by shooting outside Furman Templeton Elementary School on Pennsylvania Avenue, police said. His grandmother, Michelle Goode, said he should be preparing for his fifth-grade graduation at Furman Templeton Elementary School this Friday, but instead is recovering in the hospital from several gunshot wounds.
The shooting happened outside the school, where Tristen was on the playground and “caught in the crossfire,” police said. A 26-year-old man, described by police as the intended target, was also shot. Both victims were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Two weeks after the shooting, no arrests have been announced and the suspected shooters remain at large.

“I don’t want them to sweep my baby under the rug…like he’s nothing,” Goode said.
She said she has grown increasingly frustrated as the investigation continues without an arrest.
“I’m definitely frustrated because it’s like, I don’t know if they’ve dropped my baby case, what they done with it,” Goode said.
“I don’t know if they have forgot about my grandbaby. I don’t know, I haven’t heard about any investigations or anything. No one has said anything to me,” she said.
Baltimore police said in an email Wednesday that “the investigation remains active and ongoing.”
Police released surveillance video May 29, two days after the shooting, showing individuals jumping out of a white vehicle, dressed in black and pointing guns toward the playground before opening fire. Police have asked anyone who recognizes the individuals to come forward.
Retired Baltimore police shooting detective sergeant Isaac Carrington said community information can be key in cases like this.

“The community really knows at times, who’s involved in these shootings,” Carrington said.
Carrington said detectives may be gathering information that is not being shared publicly.
“Behind the scenes detectives are obtaining witness information, they’re obtaining further evidence, camera footage, and any community involvement, any community information that they can obtain from the community,” he said.
Carrington, who said he was shot during a robbery in 2019, retired after 25 years with the Baltimore Police Department. He urged patience as detectives work the case.
“Well, I say give the detectives time to work their case. Please be patient. I understand that it can be frustrating, but please be patient and give them time to work that case,” Carrington said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact investigators. Tips can be provided anonymously through Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-877-7LOCKUP, that’s 1-877-756-2587.
