Human remains found in College Park identified as 14-year-old boy

Human remains found at a park in Maryland last month have been identified as 14-year-old Jefferson Amaya-Ayala of Washington, D.C.

According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, the remains were located on Nov. 3 during a search at Indian Creek Stream Valley Park in College Park.

The Metropolitan Police Department and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reported Amaya-Ayala’s disappearance back in August, saying he was last seen in D.C. on Aug. 2.

His remains were sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, who ruled the case a homicide.
