
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A man in Frederick County was arrested Wednesday evening after he reportedly slashed someone with a machete.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies were first dispatched to Loy’s Station Park in Rocky Ridge for a stabbing just before 6:30 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene, they found a man with serious injuries consistent with an assault. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
FCSO said their initial investigation revealed that the victim and suspect were driving in separate vehicles when they pulled into the parking lot near the park.

“After exiting their vehicles, the two became involved in an altercation,” FCSO said. “During the incident, the suspect allegedly produced a machete and slashed the victim’s head and arm.”
Officials identified the suspect as 36-year-old Walkersville resident Michael Anthony Faya. A warrant was issued for his arrest for First-degree Assault, and on Thursday officials served a search warrant at a residence on Dublin Road, where hw as found and taken into custody.
The victim was released from the hospital after being treated.
