HARFORD COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — A man was arrested for impersonating law enforcement officers in the Joppatowne area, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
On April 30, officers saw a car displaying red and blue emergency lights, and when questioned, the driver said he was a police officer and presented what appeared to be official credentials.
Police recognized inconsistencies during the encounter and began a follow-up investigation, officials reported.

Officers collaborated with Maryland State Police, which confirmed that the individual was not a sworn law enforcement officer in the state.
On May 1, deputies located 56-year-old Robert Dicocco and took him into custody.
Dicocco was transported to the Harford County Detention Center without incident.
During the execution of search warrants, officials said they found additional evidence, including a fraudulent identification card, law-enforcement-style badges, and clothing.
Dicocco was charged with ten counts related to impersonating a police officer and was later released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
Officials said the investigation is active and ongoing.
