A man convicted of an armed robbery at a grocery store is back on the run, according to the US Marshals Service.

Tyrone Dale, 60, is wanted by federal and local law enforcement.

Dale is wanted for a federal supervised release violation.

A federal judge signed off on a warrant for his arrest back in July 2025.

According to the US Marshals Service, Dale’s supervised release stems from a November 2009 armed robbery.

Investigators said Dale approached a Food Lion in Salisbury, Maryland, as two employees were closing the grocery store for the night, and robbed it at gunpoint.

“Dale reportedly brandished a .12 gauge shotgun at both employees and threatened to kill them if they did not let him into the store,” said Jennifer Mazza, Deputy Marshal with the US Marshal’s Service

Investigators said the employees complied and walked Dale to the store safe and handed over more than $1800 in cash.

“Dale then ordered both employees onto the floor of the store, threatened to kill them if they activated the store’s alarm and fled the scene,” said Mazza.

Police arrested Dale as he ran out of the store.

Dale was later charged with three crimes, including Interference with Commerce by Robbery, a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Crime of Violence

The case went to trial, and in 2011, a jury found Dale guilty of all three counts of the indictment, according to court records.

A judge later sentenced Dale to a combined 180 months or 15 years in prison, followed by 36 months of three years supervised release.

“Dale served his sentence and was later granted supervised release,” said Mazza.

But back in 2024, investigators said Dale began violating the terms of his supervised release.

According to the US Marshals Service, Dale reportedly tested positive multiple times for CDS and committed more crimes.

According to court records, Dale is also wanted by local law enforcement in Wicomico County for theft and unlawful taking of a vehicle, back in April 2025. That warrant also remains unserved.

Dale’s criminal history dates back more than 40 years, with an arrest for first-degree rape back in 1984, records show.

According to the US Marshals Service, Dale also has previous arrests for armed robbery, assault, and theft.

The 60-year-old is now wanted by local and federal law enforcement on two open warrants.

“Dale has a lengthy criminal history. He’s been convicted of violent crimes involving guns. He’s known to violate the terms of his probation by committing more crimes. For these reasons, we’re requesting the public’s help in locating him so he can answer to these charges.”

Dale stands at about 6’3” and weighs approximately 210 pounds.
