BETHESDA, Md. (7News) — A man is dead after a shooting Thursday morning in North Bethesda, prompting a large police response near the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel.

Montgomery County police said officers were called around 11:37 a.m. to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for a reported shooting. One man was found at the scene suffering from serious injuries.

A large police presence remains in the area, and drivers are being urged to avoid the scene and use alternate routes.
