Man killed in Waldorf, Md., shooting believed to be targeted

A man was killed after a shooting in Waldorf, Maryland, on Tuesday evening, with officials looking for a person of interest, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the 26-year-old man was standing outside a home on the 2200 block of Davis Road when a suspect in a dark-colored SUV drove up and fired several shots, according to preliminary information.

Officials found the man at around 6:45 p.m. after being called to a reported shooting.

The man was treated on scene but was later pronounced dead.
