CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Maryland man and former high school coach is facing over two dozen charges following a year-long child porn investigation, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Louis Delano Bowles III, 25, of Waldorf, was arrested on March 9 after a Charles County grand jury indictment returned in late February.
Bowles faces 20 counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of promoting or distributing child pornography, investigators said.

The investigation began after detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about an unknown individual uploading child pornography from an address in Charles County.
Detectives said the case involved multiple subpoenas, cellphone data analysis and forensic examinations. Authorities determined that the illegal images were uploaded sporadically over several months.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at Bowles’ home on Randall Drive in White Plains, where they seized multiple electronic devices and a small amount of psilocybin mushrooms, according to the sheriff’s office.
A forensic review of the devices allegedly uncovered hundreds of images, videos, and messages containing child pornography, investigators said.
Detectives also learned Bowles previously worked as a track and football coach at Maurice J. McDonough High School from 2022 to 2025.
Officials said evidence recovered during the investigation consisted of pictures involving toddlers and young adolescents, and investigators found no indication that Bowles targeted high school-aged students.
Charles County Public Schools was notified and immediately banned Bowles from being on school property, authorities said.
Bowles was released from the Charles County Detention Center on March 11 under electronic monitoring, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have had inappropriate contact with Bowles to contact Detective Garner at the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-609-6488.
