Maryland man facing charges after gun pulled in DC road rage incident

A road rage incident in Northwest D.C. escalated into an armed confrontation Monday morning, leading to an arrest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Officers responded around 10 a.m. to the 1700 block of 7th Street Northwest for reports of an armed assault in progress.

Police said the victim was driving behind 57-year-old David Anthony Jennings of Brandywine, Maryland, when a traffic dispute broke out.

During the confrontation, police said Jennings allegedly pointed a gun at the victim.

Officers quickly located Jennings nearby. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and he was taken into custody without incident.

The 57-year-old is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition, and carrying a pistol without a license.

No injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
