MARYLAND (WBFF) — As a major winter storm approaches Maryland, grocery stores across the state are seeing empty shelves as residents rush to stock up on essentials.
Items such as bread, milk, eggs, bottled water, and rock salt have been selling out quickly ahead of the expected snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
Retailers across the state are seeing heavy foot traffic as the storm draws closer.

The storm is expected to hit the state starting Saturday and could bring heavy snow, ice, and dangerously cold wind chills near or below zero, making travel dangerous and potentially life-threatening throughout the weekend.
During a press conference Friday, Governor Wes Moore emphasized the dangers posed by extreme cold and icy road conditions.
Gov. Moore urged residents to stay informed through local news outlets and follow guidance from state and local authorities.
