Missing Clarksville man found dead in wooded area, police confirm

A missing man was found deceased in a wooded area on Saturday morning, according to Howard County police.

Officials said 26-year-old Mohammed Halawa was last seen on Dec. 4 at around 12 p.m. at the 5900 block of Trotter Road.

Family members expressed concern for his well-being due to health issues, as he was without essential medication and faced freezing temperatures, according to authorities.

On December 6, authorities announced that they had located Halawa, who was found dead in a wooded area by the search team at around 10:30 AM.

“The large first responder presence in the neighborhoods and woods along Trotter Road, South Wind Circle, and Middle Patuxent Environmental Area in Clarksville yesterday and this morning was part of the extensive search for his whereabouts,” authorities stated via press release.
