One person injured following early morning townhouse fire in Columbia

One person was injured following an early Friday morning townhouse fire in Columbia, officials said.

On April 10 at 2:30 a.m., Howard County firefighters were called to a townhouse in the 10600 block of High Beam Court for a reported fire.

When crews arrived, they saw fire coming from the front of the home, according to officials. Immediately, firefighters started bringing the fire under control.

The home’s occupants self-evacuated before the fire department arrived.

It took crews about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control, authorities said.

Two people were evaluated by medics with one being transported to the hospital with burn injuries.

There were no reported firefighter injuries.

Assistance from the Red Cross was requested for two adults, officials said.
