ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) — Motorists traveling across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge should expect overnight closures and shifting traffic patterns next week as the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) continues preservation and maintenance work.
The work is scheduled for Jan. 11 through Jan. 17, weather permitting.
Officials urge drivers to remain alert, obey traffic-control devices and lane signals, and remember that headlights are required at all times on the bridge.
Closure times may change based on traffic volumes and work conditions.
According to MDTA, the westbound span of the bridge may be closed Sunday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday for maintenance work.

In addition, single-lane closures on the westbound span are expected Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, to allow crews to perform maintenance work.
