
GAMBRILLS, MD. (WBFF) — A Gambrills man, who served as a pastor and worked as a teacher, has been arrested and charged with child sex abuse offenses.
William Jones, 58, is facing sexual abuse of a minor, sexual offense of the fourth degree, and child abuse charges.
On May 1, Anne Arundel County Police Officers responded to Elvaton Christian Academy in Millersville for a report of a sex offense complaint.

Authorities met with the mother of a student who reported inappropriate sexual behavior by a former teacher.
While they were on scene, police met with another parent who reported similar inappropriate sexual behavior towards her child.
Detectives from the Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit opened an investigation into the alleged abuse.
The investigation uncovered that Jones, who was the Pastor of Jessup Baptist Church in Jessup and a teacher at Elvaton Christian Academy from 2020 to 2025, was the suspect of the abuse.
Jones is also associated with the global missionary organization Mission Fields International.
Authorities said that they conducted interviews and collected evidence, and identified five victims of abuse.

An arrest warrant was issued for Jones, and he was taken into custody on July 25.
