
MONTGEOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A pedestrian was struck and killed following a crash early Monday morning in Montgomery County, according to police.
Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers responded around 2:08 a.m. to the area of Veirs Mill Road and Gail Street for a reported collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Police initially said the crash involved a pedestrian on a scooter.
In an update posted by MCPD around 4 a.m., officials clarified that the man who was pronounced dead at the scene was not traveling on a scooter.

Veirs Mill Road was closed in both directions between Claridge Road and Connecticut Avenue, but, as of 7:08 a.m., police said all lanes have reopened.
