A Safeway tractor-trailer nearly hit an apartment building and caused a fuel spill in Maryland on Friday night.

The unoccupied tractor-trailer rolled down a hill, through a fence, and stopped just before hitting a three-story garden apartment building. The trailer hit a france at the 2500 block of Baltimore Road near Norbeck Road, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS).

Over 60 gallons of diesel fuel were spilled due to ruptured saddle tanks. Maryland Department of the Environment helped with the spill, said MCFRS officials.
