Police investigating after driver dies on birthday, two others injured in Pikesville crash

A driver died on their birthday and two others were injured after a car crash in Pikesville on Monday morning, the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team confirmed.

On Dec. 1, around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a crash along Reisterstown Road in Pikesville.

Investigators learned that a 2004 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on Reisterstown Road when it struck a 2020 Lexus RX350 making a left turn from the westbound exit ramp of I-695.

The driver of the Toyota, 22-year-old Jefferson Mena-Rivas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said he died on his birthday.

The passenger in the Toyota, an adult woman, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, driver of the Lexus was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
