PETERBOROUGH, England (WKRC) – A “murder investigation” was wrapped up quickly when a “dead body” discovered by multiple residents turned out to be something else entirely.
According to a report from the Peterborough Telegraph, one councilperson awoke on May 21 to a dozen messages from concerned residents regarding a possible “dead body” in bushes near a residential area. The councilperson said they received “blurry photos” of the supposed body, per the outlet.
Town authorities examined the area without contacting police and made a surprising discovery – the object in the bushes wasn’t a body, but a discarded sex doll.
“Not a murder mystery… just someone abandoning an inflatable girlfriend in a bush next to an abandoned carpet and a pothole,” read a statement from the town obtained by the outlet.
