Police began tracking an uptick in robberies across Baltimore in late April, according to public data.
The Baltimore Police Department’s public crime map shows that the number of robbery cases fluctuates per week.
For example, there were as few as 24 robberies between Feb. 23 and March 1, according to the data.
Six weeks later, the number of those robberies nearly tripled.
The data shows that between April 20 and April 26 there were 69 robberies.
That number dropped in the following days, though, with 29 robberies recorded between April 27 and March 2, according to the data.
The map categorizes carjackings and commercial robberies separately, so they are not included in that number.
