
MARYLAND (WBFF) — A Salisbury man has been indicted Friday following a Maryland State Police investigation into the theft of over $670,000 from Crisfield American Legion Post 16 in Somerset County.
On Jan. 16, a Somerset County grand jury indicted 56-year-old Donald Lee Waters, of Salisbury, on several charges including theft over $100,000, theft scheme and related financial offenses.

The preliminary investigation by Maryland State Police found that Waters stole about $670,394 in charitable proceeds between mid-2021 and August of 2024 by exploiting a position of trust within the legion, according to officials.
The investigation continues.
