FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 40-year-old Robert Bloom who escaped from the Carroll County Detention Center Transportation Unit Thursday afternoon.
The Transportation Unit is responsible for transporting “all inmates to and from out-of-county court dates in Maryland, medical appointments and treatment facilities.”

Authorities said Bloom was last seen near Buckeystown Pike and Manor Woods Road after cutting off his ankle monitor.
Officials warn that Bloom may be armed with a sharp object.
He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black shorts.
A search for the escapee is currently underway.
If you see Bloom, deputies say not to approach him and call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 301-600-1046.
