Small plane makes safe emergency landing at Montgomery County airport

A small plane made an emergency landing at the Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, Maryland, after experiencing issues with its landing gear.

A spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was first reported around 11 a.m.

The pilot circled the area until it was determined that part of the landing gear was functional, making a safe landing around 11:40 a.m., according to spokesperson Pete Piringer.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities said an investigation will take place to determine what caused the landing gear to malfunction.
