
ROCKVILLE, Md. (7News) — Montgomery County police have one person in custody after a stolen U-Haul truck crashed into multiple vehicles Friday morning.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), officers initially received a call around 9:45 a.m. for a crash involving the truck.
Police said the driver struck a vehicle near Strathmore and Rockville Pike before continuing north. While on Rockville Pike, police said the U-Haul’s front wheel came off, and the detached wheel hit another vehicle near Nicholson Lane.

Police said the truck was later involved in a third crash at Josiah Henson Parkway and East Jefferson Street, where it became disabled after crossing Montrose Road.
The driver, identified as a woman, got out of the truck and ran from the scene, according to MCPD. Officers arrested her in the 1700 block of East Jefferson Street, near Federal Plaza.
Officials add that the U-Haul had been reported stolen the day before.
