SUN: 2 men charged after Westminster Lowe’s theft leads to Route 140 police chase

Two men are facing charges after a theft at a Westminster home improvement store triggered a multiagency investigation and a police chase on Route 140, police said Friday.

Westminster Police eventually terminated the pursuit when it ventured into Baltimore County, and the two suspects were tracked down with the assistance of Howard County Police and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Westminster Police responded to the Lowe’s store at 777 Market St., at 3:39 p.m. Tuesday, for a report of a theft in progress. The Carroll Sheriff’s Office picked up the vehicle traveling east on 140 in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, according to the release.

Police tracked down the driver, Kevin Green, a 50-year-old from Baltimore, at a motel in Elkridge, and he faces charges of fleeing and eluding uniformed police, reckless driving and drug possession, according to the release.
