BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Eastpoint Mall, a Dundalk shopping destination for nearly seven decades, will close Aug. 31, according to employees who said the mall’s remaining store owners were notified of the shutdown this week.
Yet store owners said they haven’t received any written confirmation from mall management that Eastpoint is closing, hearing the news through word of mouth and hushed phone calls. The lack of communication from the mall’s owner, an affiliate of MCB Real Estate, has left some employees feeling panicked. MCB Real Estate could not be reached for comment Thursday.
Amarjit Singh, the owner of women’s closing store Class Act, said she had gotten “no email, no letter, nothing” to alert her of the closure, instead hearing from a store inspector who came by Class Act on May 18.
“This is my second home, and this is my bank,” said Singh, who has owned Class Act for 36 years. “I feel like I’m losing everything.”
