The Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office said it will not prosecute assault charges filed last month against two Anne Arundel County Police officers.
Anne Arundel County Police Sgt. Brandon Drabczyk and Cpl. Kara Parks were charged with second-degree assault in the Washington County District Court last month after they were accused of attacking a woman in a hotel parking lot in May.
Maryland State Police Trooper Timothy Swigert and Tracy Parks — who is married to Kara Parks, according to his Facebook page — were also charged with second-degree assault in the altercation.
On Friday, Washington County Deputy State’s Attorney Kenneth Shapiro filed to schedule hearings for the state to drop the charges against the four defendants. The hearings are all scheduled for Thursday, according to court records.
