BALTIMORE (WBFF) — After spending 25 years in prison, Anthony Hall will receive a $11 million settlement from Baltimore City almost 34 years after he was falsely convicted for the 1991 murder of Gerard Dorsey.
Mayor Brandon Scott, and other members of the Board of Estimates who approved Allen’s settlement, said the price may be high, but it does not compare to the time Hall spent in prison.
“I’m sorry that he had to go through that,” Scott said during a post-Board of Estimates news conference. “That’s a long time for something that you did not do, and $11 million cannot make up for time lost with family.”
Hall will immediately receive $6 million due to the board’s approval. He will receive a $5 million payment in 2027.
