BALTIMORE — Visitors heading to Fells Point will now face stricter entry rules as Baltimore officials expand security measures aimed at curbing violence and large teen gatherings.
The Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and Entertainment on Friday released a new set of guidelines governing access to parts of the neighborhood, warning visitors to review the rules before arriving.
“Fells Point is open and ready to welcome you,” the office said in a statement posted to Instagram. “We invite you to explore our shops, restaurants, and bars. These policies are designed to help create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits.”
Earlier this week, Baltimore Police told The Baltimore Sun they will continue using weekend roadblocks and checkpoint-style traffic controls in Fells Point. These rules are in effect for the area in between the roadblocks or any other “permitted space” inside the neighborhood.
