FELLS POINT (WBFF) — Baltimore is expanding its aggressive weekend security measures, requiring identification checks, setting up road closures and restricting access to parts of Fells Point and Federal Hill as city officials continue efforts to prevent large gatherings and “teen takeovers.”
Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing each night through the weekend, the measures will take effect in Fells Point, where visitors will encounter ID checks, road closures, parking restrictions and, in some cases, bag searches under rules announced Friday by the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and Entertainment (MOACE).
Federal Hill also will operate under many of the same restrictions, marking the first time the city has expanded the enforcement strategy beyond Fells Point.
“We encourage everyone to review the latest guidelines before heading out and help us continue creating a safe, enjoyable experience for residents, businesses, and visitors alike,” MOACE officials wrote in an Instagram post announcing the restrictions.
