BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Hundreds of Morgan State and Coppin State students are living in downtown Baltimore hotels this fall after construction delays pushed back the openings of new residence halls at both universities.
At Coppin, the university is spending $3.86 million to house nearly 570 students at the Lord Baltimore and Inner Harbor Sonesta hotels.
For Morgan, someone else is picking up the bill.
The Maryland Economic Development Corporation, known as MEDCO, is covering hotel rooms for roughly 230 Morgan students at the Lord Baltimore, along with shuttle service to campus and the cost of moving them into the new Harper-Tubman House later this fall, university spokesperson Larry Jones said.
