CARROLL COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — Carroll County Animal Control announced Thursday the capture of a mustang that had been on the loose in the Liberty Reservoir area for weeks.
A team of Carroll County Animal Control officers prepared a 59-panel fenced chute that would lead the mustang to a trailer in the days ahead of the animal’s successful capture.
Jaime Limoges, executive director of the Humane Society of Carroll County, who helped coordinate the capture, said last week that the safest way to apprehend the horse, for both the involved humans and the horse, was to build a confinement area that the horse would voluntarily enter.
The horse was taken to Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue in Mount Airy, a news release from animal control said. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Baltimore County Division of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources supported the capture efforts with traffic control.
