The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a police chase that led to a suspect’s death and a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday, officials confirmed.

On June 9, officers observed what they believed to be a drug transaction on Meadwood Drive, and they soon discovered that the car involved had several violations.

When authorities attempted to stop the vehicle near Long Bar Harbor, the driver refused to pull over.

The driver then headed eastbound on Route 40 and passed through the intersection at Bata Boulevard.

Upon reaching the intersection of Route 40 and Route 543, police said the vehicle collided with four other cars, causing the suspect’s vehicle to catch fire.

The suspect inside the car became trapped as a result of the crash and died from the crash.
