WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump is expected in Georgia on Wednesday, planning a stop at Wheeler High School in Marietta, according to the White House. His visit will focus on affordability and education; the White House said Trump will promote certain policies such as tax breaks ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
At Wheeler High School, Trump is also expected to promote Trump Accounts, a program launched nearly three weeks ago that will provide $1,000 to any child born between 2025 and 2028.
Wednesday marks Trump’s latest trip to Georgia, a battleground state, where the Republicans are looking to continue positive momentum heading into November elections.
Two Republican candidates will join Trump at the event — Rick Jackson, running for governor, and Representative Mike Collins, who is running for the U.S. Senate. The GOP is seeking to remove Democratic Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff, who is running for re-election.
Before the event could take place, protesters crowded, despite the heat, in Marietta. Protesters were critical of Trump’s immigration policies, the Trump savings accounts, the War in Iran and claims of election fraud.
